Hmm... I just noticed I have smileys on almost all of my posts here, informal emails, cards, notes... etc everywhere!
Guess I chat too much on the messenger. : p (Oops... here goes another one! Haha!)

Party
Will you go to a party if you knew only the host? If you do attend, how will you feel?
I was in that situation tonight when I went to a birthday party, knew only the host well. Ok ...there's a few familiar faces whom I met for a few hours at the same function last year :P
Felt pretty awkward at first, shifting around drinking, stuffing my stomach and observing .. just being the quiet bee. It wouldn't be a fun night if I kept going like that, so by smiling and just taking the first step to say hi has opened up space for chatting and getting to know new friends.
I had a fun night! I bet I might only meet those peeps again next year... if I'm invited to another party... that is.
Hehe.

Reactions
Last weekend, lent K. my precious 5 months old digicam to Bangkok, and it got pick-pocketed away...
Of course my first reactions was heartache and upset as it's my hard-earned money, and the 'old' me wanted to blame him for being careless.
But I can say that I felt powerful when I didn't react the way I would have. I let my blame and my side of story of what's happened go. What's happened is a fact, and it wouldn't change the situation around or make it better if I had throw a tantrum or not in talking terms.
And hey, I bet I'm gonna have a NEW digicam soon. ;-)

The Eternal Child
This is the first documentary book that I find interesting. It's a page-turner book by Oxford zoologist Clive Bromhall on human evolution.
His hypothesis of a single process of "infantising" is what made us human as we are today, from our body structure, emotions, the variety of human behaviours, homosexuality, intelligence and creativity.
I bet there are many theories on human evolution, but this one fascinates me. A recommended reading, especially for my gay friends. ;-)
